Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition Unveiled
Mahindra & Mahindra has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, marking a significant moment for both electric vehicle enthusiasts and superhero fans in India. Announced as the world’s first officially licensed Batman-inspired electric SUV, this limited-run model brings cinematic styling and premium electric performance together in one exclusive package.
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition will be restricted to just 300 units, making it one of the most exclusive EVs ever offered in the Indian market. The company has announced that bookings will open on 23 August 2025, and deliveries are scheduled to begin on 20 September 2025, coinciding with the annual celebration of Batman Day.
Priced at ₹27.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition carries a substantial premium over the standard BE 6, but offers a bespoke design inspired by the iconic DC superhero. The model has been developed in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and features several visual and styling cues inspired by the Dark Knight trilogy.
Visually, the SUV is finished in a satin black exterior paint, which has been specially formulated to replicate the stealth-like appearance of Batman’s gadgets and vehicles. The exterior also features Batman badges and decals, while the 20-inch alloy wheels come with an embossed Batman logo in the centre. A special Dark Knight emblem is placed on the infinity roof panel, adding a unique signature visible from above.
Other unique touches include gold-finished brake calipers, a rear spoiler with a bat-wing inspired design, and a special illumination sequence that activates the Batman logo on the ground when the vehicle is unlocked. The entire exterior package has been shaped to create a cinematic and dramatic impression on the road.
Inside the cabin, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition continues the theme with charcoal-black leather upholstery and suede-finish panels on the dashboard. Each unit is individually numbered, highlighted by a gold plaque mounted on the centre console. The steering wheel and the dashboard receive gold detailing, while the “boost” button on the steering wheel comes with a Batman logo in the centre.
In addition, the instrument cluster and infotainment system feature a special Batman theme animation during startup. A customised key fob with the Batman symbol is also provided exclusively for owners of this limited-edition model. The interior lighting package has been tuned to create a dark yet premium cabin ambience, reflecting the character of the Dark Knight.
Technically, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is based on the top-spec “Pack Three” variant of the BE 6. This means it comes equipped with a 79 kWh battery pack producing 286 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims that the model delivers an ARAI-certified driving range of 682 km on a single charge. The SUV supports fast charging and can charge from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes using a DC fast charger.
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition also includes the brand’s latest suite of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot warning and autonomous emergency braking. A 360-degree camera and a connected-car suite are offered as standard on this limited edition.
Mahindra says the launch of the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is part of its broader strategy of strengthening the emotional appeal of its electric vehicle range. According to company officials, the partnership with Warner Bros. allows Mahindra to reach new audiences and deliver unique ownership experiences that go beyond traditional automotive expectations.
From a market perspective, the standard BE 6 will compete with upcoming models such as the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV and MG ZS EV. However, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is positioned as a collector’s item and is not expected to be compared directly with mass-market rivals. The limited production run and the brand association with Batman are likely to attract enthusiasts and fans of superhero franchises who seek exclusivity and high-end electric performance.
Social media reaction to the unveiling has been enthusiastic, with many users praising Mahindra for experimenting with bold and creative designs. Some fans described the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition as “the closest thing to a Batmobile on Indian roads,” while others welcomed the idea of themed editions in the EV market.
Overall, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition represents a bold new direction for the Indian automotive industry, combining cinematic pop culture with electric mobility. With its distinctive styling, high performance figures and extremely limited availability, the model is expected to generate strong demand among collectors and EV enthusiasts alike. The launch on Batman Day further enhances its appeal and strengthens Mahindra’s image as an innovative player in the growing electric vehicle segment.
